Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized University, relevant to the area of study (Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Public Health or related field)
Current PhD registration with a recognized University (local or international), preferably within first year of studies
Excellent communication, analytical and writing skills in English
Demonstrated capacity for continued career growth through publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or presentation at scientific meetings
Personal motivation as demonstrated by motivation letter and interview responses
Intention to pursue a long-term career in malaria research
Commitment to work in Kilifi County, Kenya for the duration of studies
Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical methods
Hands-on experience in field data collection, including supporting data collection efforts and coordinating fieldwork activities
Molecular biology skills such as PCR, RT-PCR sequencing, cell culture, microscopy, field work
Collaborative team player
