Description
Reporting to the National Operations Manager (Manned Security Services), the officer will be
expected to create, implement, and oversee plans to ensure the safety and security of
individuals and assets during travel in high-risk environments, involving risk assessments, real-
time monitoring, security clearances, and emergency response coordination. The role requires
strong local intelligence, coordination with local authorities, and the use of technology for
tracking and communication.Responsibilities
Planning and risk assessment:
● Assess and identify potential travel hazards, including road conditions, crime rates,
civil unrest, and weather conditions.
● Conduct security surveys for proposed routes and accommodation options.
● Develop comprehensive and detailed journey management plans (JMPs) with pre-
defined primary and alternative routes, as well as safe rest and refueling stops.
Monitoring and tracking:
● Monitor travel in real-time using in-vehicle monitoring systems (IVMS) and GPS
software.
● Maintain regular communication with drivers and teams throughout their journey via
phone, radio, and satellite communication devices.
● Track driver behavior, such as speeding, harsh braking, and route violations, and
address any non-compliance.
Logistics and coordination:
● Execute daily transportation plans and coordinate movement with drivers, security
teams, and clients.
● Coordinate with internal teams and external security agencies, including armed
escorts where necessary.
● Ensure all vehicles are well-maintained, equipped with necessary safety and
communication tools, and undergo pre-trip checks.
Emergency response:
● Develop and implement contingency and emergency response plans for incidents
such as accidents, vehicle breakdowns, or security threats.
● Respond promptly to emergency alerts or missed check-ins and initiate escalation
procedures.
● Investigate and report all security incidents and near-misses to identify trends and
improve future protocols.
Training and reporting:
● Conduct security and safety briefings for all travelers before departure.
● Induct and train drivers on company policies and the journey management system.
