Qualifications and skills

  • Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution
  • Specialization or experience in Print Media/Journalism.
  • Three(3) Years Teaching experience at the tertiary or university level will be an added advantage
  • Must be registered with a relevant professional body in Kenya and possess a valid practicing license where applicable
  • Proficiency in relevant media production and publishing tools is desirable.


Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and/or diploma courses in Print Media, Journalism, and Mass Communication
  • Train students in news writing, feature writing, editing, layout and design, magazine production, and newspaper publishing
  • Supervise student projects, attachments, and research work
  • Participate in curriculum review and development to align with industry trends
  • Establish linkages with media organizations for industrial attachment and collaboration opportunities
  • Conduct research, publish scholarly work, and participate in academic conferences and seminars
