We are seeking a hands-on technical Platform engineering lead who will manage a team of Platform Engineers accountable for enterprise-wide system administration, availability, performance, costs, security and risk management for Network International's global infrastructure estate.

The infrastructure landscape spans across multiple geographic regions including UAE, KSA, South Africa and wider Africa. It covers core platforms like Oracle/x86, Oracle VM, VMWare, Hyper-V, Unix, Linux and Windows servers, storage systems, data protection, Network, Network security and Databases.

The Platform engineering team provides 24/7 engineering support for this complex interconnected system ecosystem that underpins the company's technology operations and services delivery

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree level from a recognized university in computer science or relevant subject
  • 5+ years of experience in a Technology / IT function in a recognized international organization
  • In-depth knowledge of x86 & SPARC Hardware, Solaris OS & Oracle Virilizations (LDOMS/Zones)
  • In-depth knowledge of RedHat Linux OS + Windows Server
  • In-depth knowledge of VMWare vSphere, vRCLI & vROPS, ARIA
  • Excellent Knowledge in High-end and Mid-range storages (PowerMax/PowerStore/DataDomain/ECS) including design and replication technologies.
  • In-depth Knowledge of Enterprise backup solutions (Networker/NetBackup).
  • In-depth Knowledge in Veritas Cluster including fault tolerant configuration and maintenance.
  • Design and deploy systems with HA.
  • Should have very strong working knowledge on OS & Infrastructure Application patching, maintaining
  • Oracle Solaris (11) Patching Repository, RedHat Satellite servers & Qualys patching tool.
  • Performance Tuning skills in OS (Unix/Linux) / Storage & Backup.

  • Lead, mentor and motivate the platform/infrastructure Platform support team
  • Monitor and enhance stability, efficiency, and compliance of infrastructure
  • Guide capacity planning, upgrades aligned to business requirements
  • Drive automation initiatives to simplify and optimize platform management
  • Liaise with architecture and Infosec teams on infrastructure modernization
  • Report on utilization, performance, and availability metrics
  • Continually identify and mitigate risks through audits and remediation
  • Manage vendor relationships regarding underlying infrastructure technologies
  • Ensure that infrastructure changes are managed and follow agreed standard processes
  • Ensure that Changes to applications are performed within the Architecture guidelines
  • Provide first level support for incidents and problems related front end solutions
  • Ensure that incidents and problems do not impact the agreed service levels
  • Manage services from relevant vendors
  • Responsible for disaster recovery of NI systems & data centers. Work closely with other teams to

    achieve overall disaster recovery and continuity to suit organizational needs.

  • Provide data protection, recovery, and business continuity
