Description
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Town Planning, Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional certifications in permitting compliance (e.g., Certified Permitting Compliance Professional) are highly desirable
- Minimum 5 years of in-house experience with a strong history of regulatory compliance, permitting or wayleave management
Experience and Skills
- Experience conducting permitting and wayleave compliance audits, risk assessments and investigations.
- Familiarity with the telecommunication sector, regulatory requirements and compliance mechanisms within the telecommunications sector
- Strong organizational skills to operate effectively in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at various levels
- Negotiating skills and capacity to work with internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Provide support in terms of acquiring all wayleave, permits and consents related to WIOCC Group activities
- Monitor Group activities to ensure compliance with provisions of all acquired permits, approvals and internal policies
- Conduct regular audits on all issued wayleaves and permits to ensure timeous renewal of wayleaves and permits required for business activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to wayleaves, permits and compliance activities
- Liaise with landowners, local authorities, regulators and other stakeholders to secure and maintain necessary consents
- Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders to develop and execute permitting and wayleave compliance audit plans to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and processes
- Identify areas of non-compliance or potential risks related to permitting and wayleave and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Drive awareness initiatives to sensitize operational teams on wayleave and permitting requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of wayleave and permit processes and controls
