An Area Sales Manager is responsible for commodity aggregation, overseeing
warehousing, and logistics activities as well as managing smallholder farmers according
to the organization’s policies. An Area Sales Manager is also responsible for enlisting
commodity trade partners, logistics trade partners and client engagement. Furthermore,
the responsibilities of an Area Sales Manager include but are not limited to supervising,
receiving, warehousing, distribution operation, auditing & ensuring compliance, keeping
accurate records of warehouse activities, maintaining awareness, farmers outreach,
and knowledge of the conditions of all stocks. Ultimately, an Area Sales Manager should
have experience in inventory, warehousing, data analytics, strong leadership, and
organizational skills.
High-Level Trade Coordination
▪ Trade Partner Enlistment and Engagement
▪ Operations coordination aimed at commodity aggregation from farmers and
traders
▪ Logistics trade partner engagement and coordination
Farmer Engagement and Input Disbursement Coordination
▪ In charge of input planning in location which includes registration of farmers,
meeting with cooperative heads, visiting farms and attending cooperative
meetings
▪ Drive loan disbursement, reporting and repayment
▪ Promote the adoption and establishment of robust outreach operations
Warehouses Audit and Compliance
▪ Promote proper management of warehouses in jurisdiction
▪ Ensure processes and procedures are adhered to in all warehouses in the region.
▪ Resolution of any issues/challenges faced by warehouses in the region and
escalate to appropriate quarters.
▪ Ensure adoption of standard warehouse practices for commodities intake,
stacking, storage, and dispatches
▪ Promote data integrity across all technology system
▪ Conduct periodic check for all operations aimed at ensuring operational integrity
and consistency
▪ Ensures all transactions are posted and paid.
▪ Accurate and timely mid and end month reports.
