Description
Reporting to the Regional Human Resource Director (East Africa Cluster), the Learning & Development
Manager shall develop and implement all training and development solutions and interventions in order to
meet the strategic,operational and talent needs of the business throughout the learning and development
life cycle and in accordance with legislative requirements and the G4S group minimum standards.Responsibilities
Develop and maintain curriculum framework and learning programmes for
Management/Leadership and Frontline staff
● Strategy is aligned and signed off by the HR director as supporting the achievement of corporate
objectives
● Strategy/policy is benchmarked against best practices in industry
● Strategy complies to NITA/ PSRA Skills Development legislation and PSRA regulations
● Learning designed to develop the core competencies
● Assessment and moderation activities linked to learning
● Management and sourcing of training material and courses via external providers and internal
● Develop Customer and product specific training courses as required
● Develop and customize learning material in line with training needs and company strategies.
● Update and coordinate the induction learning for Frontline, Management/Supervisor to ensure
relevance and positive impact
● Research into learning and development trends and recommending new directions.
● Provide guidance in terms of psychometric testing and assessment centres
● Assess internal clients needs and device means to address the needs such as motivational
analysis and interventions
Manage the training administration and budget/expenses
● Check, analyse and explain major variances to budget on a monthly basis
● Ensure that expense mandates follow audit procedures
● Prepare annual input on estimated management development for business units
● Organise and control processes surrounding the study procedures
● Manage and maintain custodian database in terms of competency tracking
● Ensure proper reporting of individual and collective department results
Facilitate the effective implementation of learning and development interventions
● Monitor implementation and use feedback to update content and framework
● Planning, execution and ongoing management of High Flyer Programmes Needs
● Effectiveness of the training is measured and evaluated in accordance with the objectives set.
● Equality/diversity profile evaluated of those receiving training and development via WSP Reports
● Source and procure (in line with procurement process) appropriate providers or identify internal
facilitators
● Schedule dates and ensure course/intervention details captured on the learner management
systems
● Quality assurance of learning material content
● Consolidate and reconcile provider invoices when relevant (according to process)
● Review performance of providers in feedback from delegates after training courses and feedback
from business on effectiveness of training
● Results of internal training measured through certification of learners vs learners enrolled
● Create a summary and compare to the WSP projections
● Source relevant solutions or recommendations for needs identified in process
● Train the Trainers
● Project management of initiatives
● Assist with OD interventions such as climate surveys/reengineering exercises and workshops
Participation in the formulation and development of talent management and succession planning
● Liaise with regional and G4S Kenya management to ensure current staff compliment and
immediate, mid and long term succession plans
● Participate in the formulation of succession planning procedures
● Devise and implement a talent management strategy in line with Group guidelines
● Create a talent a talent inventory and identify gaps ensuring alignment with business objectives
Oversee and manage resourcing across the G4S Kenya business,
● Liaise and consult with departmental heads and hiring managers on recruitment needs and
identification and hiring of the ideal candidates
● Develop and align job competency framework with recruitment and selection processes,
performance management and development strategies.
● Build and implement a sustainable Employee Value Proposition
● Oversee vetting processes in order to ensure minimum or no derogations
● Prepare Monthly, quarterly and annual resourcing reports and participate in business planning
and budget formulation and implementation on resourcing.
Implementation of Coaching and Mentorship programmes
● Develop programme development for Coaches at G4S
● Ensure delivery of training to target audience
● Development of tools for specific Performance measurement criteria for each job profile as per
Company’s short term priorities
● Train Coaches on usage of tools to track their group’s/High flyers performance results 1/4terly.
● Develop PDP (personal development plans, policies and procedures.)
● Workshop to facilitate the PDP process and procedures
