Your profile

  • Degree or Diploma in Horticulture/ Agriculture or a related field.
  • Over 2 years of direct hands-on experience in a busy Farm Site/Plant environment and fully
  • conversant with Avocado operations in the food processing industry.
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with excellent crisis management skills and able to bring solutions to the table.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and diverse agricultural environment.
  • Strong administration, site management and people management skills with proven delivery on targets within a strict timeframe.
  • Report writing skills.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily orchard operations, including irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, harvesting, and nursery management.
  • Monitor tree health, plant nutrition, and pest management programs.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of irrigation systems, spraying equipment, and field tools.
  • Supervise labor teams, allocate daily tasks, and maintain staff discipline and welfare.
  • Train staff on pruning, grafting, harvesting, mulching, and organic farming practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of irrigation, spray schedules, labor allocation, and orchard activities.
  • Ensure fruit quality control and compliance with export and agricultural standards.
  • Plan and requisition necessary farm inputs in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the agronomy team to ensure pests and diseases remain below economic thresholds.
