HR Generalist / Leave of Absence Administrator

The HR Generalist / Leave of Absence Administrator is a dual‑function role responsible for providing HR generalist support and administering employee leave programs for CIP Group’s clients. This position acts as a primary point of contact for employees and managers, handling employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and managing all aspects of leave of absence programs including FMLA, ADA, and state‑specific leave programs.

Schedule/ On site

Full‑time, 8‑hour workday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM EST.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (Associate’s degree or equivalent experience considered).
  • 3–5 years of experience in HR or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience administering leave of absence programs.
  • Experience conducting employee investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and federal/state leave regulations.
  • Understanding of multi‑state employment laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with HRIS and leave management systems.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.
  • HR certifications (SHRM‑CP/SCP) are a plus.


Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client HR inquiries, ensuring consistent service delivery.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and complex cases.
  • Lead investigations regarding retaliation, discrimination, and harassment.
  • Participate in client meetings to align HR services with client needs.
  • Review and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Support HR Business Partners with assessments and HR‑related projects.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure compliance.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, reporting, and organizing HR‑related client events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by HR leadership.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client HR inquiries, ensuring consistent service delivery.

  • Coordinate with payroll, benefits, and third‑party leave administrators.
  • Track and maintain accurate leave documentation.
  • Provide timely notifications, approvals, denials, and return‑to‑work communications.
  • Support the ADA interactive process and coordinate reasonable accommodations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of medical and sensitive information.
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to leave activity
