Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Film Production, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least one (1) year of relevant professional experience in communications, digital media, graphic design, content creation, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design, photography, videography, and photo/video editing.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proven experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging digital content.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Kenya and provide communications support during weekend or evening events when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop engaging content for YAA’s social media platforms, website and other communication channels.
- Design innovative digital and print communication materials, including posters, brochures, infographics, banners, presentations, and campaign materials.
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos during meetings, trainings, community engagements, and public events.
- Edit photographs and produce engaging short-form and long-form videos for digital platforms.
- Support planning and implementation of digital campaigns to increase YAA’s visibility, engagement, and brand recognition.
- Manage and grow YAA’s social media platforms by creating content calendars, scheduling posts, engaging audiences, and monitoring performance.
- Develop compelling human-interest stories, success stories, testimonials, and programme highlights.
- Maintain an organized digital archive of photographs, videos, and communication assets.
- Ensure consistency in YAA’s visual identity and branding across all communication products.
- Support media engagement, live coverage of events, and communications during campaigns.
- Perform any other communications-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
