Description
We are seeking an aggressive, results-driven US Freight Sales Associate based in Nairobi to drive outbound revenue growth across North American freight lanes. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying target shippers, cold-calling US logistics directors, negotiating spot and contract rates, and closing new freight accounts.
Working directly during active US operating hours (3 PM – 11 PM EAT), you will act as a strategic logistics partner to US manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.
Outbound Prospecting: Execute 50+ cold calls and multi-channel outreach daily to US-based shippers, manufacturers, and distributors to build a pipeline of high-volume freight leads.
Rate Negotiation & Closing: Price freight lanes dynamically based on market spot rates (DAT/Truckstop data) and negotiate profitable rate quotes to close new customer agreements.
Account Management & Growth: Manage client relationships, secure recurring loads, resolve service issues, and upsell additional freight modes (Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, LTL).
Cross-Functional Operations: Work closely with the dispatch and carrier sales teams to ensure booked freight is covered efficiently and at target margins.
Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, quotes, and pipeline stages in our CRM.
2+ years of outbound B2B sales experience, preferably selling US freight brokerage, 3PL services, or logistics solutions.
Deep understanding of US geography, major freight lanes, and spot-market dynamics.
Proven track record of hitting or exceeding monthly gross margin targets.
Exceptional English verbal and written communication, with native-level confidence pitching US executives over the phone.
Full commitment to working the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EAT shift consistently.
Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce) and load/rate analysis tools.
