About Fuzu

Fuzu is the leading African career development and talent-matching platform dedicated to connecting talent to opportunity. With over 2.5 million registered users and 2,000+ employers, Fuzu leverages AI-driven technology to help young people build skills, access meaningful employment, and grow their careers both locally and globally.

Through our AI Powered Job Connections Program, Fuzu is implementing a two-year initiative designed to connect financially disadvantaged youth in Kenya—particularly young women, persons with disabilities, and refugees—to dignified and fulfilling work opportunities. By combining AI-powered job matching, personalized career coaching, targeted skilling, and light-touch employer engagement, the program removes systemic barriers to employment and supports thousands of young people in accessing sustainable income and long-term career pathways.

About the role

We are looking for a Learning Specialist to strengthen programme participants’ employability by identifying competency gaps and building structured learning pathways by curating high-quality content and partners, and enabling smooth progression from skills development to job matching. Also supports limited, information-only employer awareness materials that encourage inclusive hiring and youth success.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct skills/competency gap analysis using participant data, employer signals, and sector trends.

  • Design learning pathways (modular, practical) aligned to targeted roles and career tracks.

  • Curate and quality-review learning content and partners (TVETs, online platforms, trainers) against inclusion, accessibility, and effectiveness criteria.

  • Define learning outcomes, progression rules, and lightweight assessments/badges as appropriate.

  • Work with Platform teams to implement learning journeys inside the program space (recommendations, nudges, tracking).

  • Collaborate with Youth Community Specialist to ensure learning support and accessibility for vulnerable groups.

  • Produce information-only employer awareness materials (brief guides/toolkits) that promote inclusive hiring practices and clarify skill expectations—without promotional or sales intent.

  • Monitor learning engagement and outcomes; recommend improvements based on evidence.

  • Ensure all learning content is appropriate, inclusive, and safeguards participants (no harmful content, no exploitative offers).

Key deliverables
  • Competency framework and learning pathways for prioritized job families.

  • Curated partner/content library with QA criteria and periodic reviews.

  • Employer-facing inclusive hiring briefs (information-only) and periodic updates.

Qualifications & experience
  • Degree in Education, Instructional Design, HRD, Psychology, or related field.

  • 3–5 years in learning design, skills programs, employability training or education partnerships.

  • Experience working with youth and/or digital learning platforms preferred.

Skills & competencies
  • Instructional design; partner management; strong writing and synthesis.

  • Data-informed decision making; user-centered mindset.

  • Inclusion/accessibility awareness (especially for PWD and disadvantaged youth).
