Main Purpose of The Job

Increase sales by satisfactorily serving customers in the shop and assisting them with completing their purchases and ensuring the smooth running and proper maintenance of the shop.

Responsibilities

Department: Despatch

Reports to: Despatch Manager

Main Purpose of The Job

Increase sales by satisfactorily serving customers in the shop and assisting them with completing their purchases and ensuring the smooth running and proper maintenance of the shop.

  • Receiving, unpacking, and arranging new shipments from suppliers and vendors.

  • Arranging and labelling goods in the display shelves.

  • Assisting customers in finding the products they’re looking for.

  • Processing customer payments at the checkout point/till.

  • Addressing customer complaints and inquiries.

  • Providing shopping advice and recommendations to customers (Inform customers when a new design is introduced, there are changes in pricing, follow ups on customers who have been inactive, and recommend alternative products when out of stock).

  • Cleaning and rearranging the shop.

  • Performing periodic price audits to resolve price discrepancies.

  • Keep the shop clean, tidy, and always organized.

  • Ensure that shelves are properly stocked.

  • keep an eye on customers to prevent shoplifting and any damage to goods and help process refunds and exchanges.

  • Daily sales report.

  • Highlighting any discrepancies/gaps in sales.

  • Stock takes and stock reports.

  • Handling customer complaints and concerns and sharing the same with relevant seniors.

  • Always be informed and share with the sales manager of the market needs and requirements

  • Ensuring follow ups on active and inactive customers.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. With inclination to mathematical skills.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn.

  • Sales & persuasive skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Time management skills

  • Strong team spirit

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

  • Working knowledge of relevant POS software and retail equipment

  • Physical fitness and excellent stamina
