Roles and Responsibilities

✓ Developing an in-depth knowledge of HPG Kenya organizational services and process

✓ Resolve financial disputes raised by the clients and HPG Kenya team.

✓ Being a key point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting matters

✓ Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing financial information

✓ Predicting future financial trends

✓ Reporting to management, and providing advice how the company and future business decisions might be impacted

✓ Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc. within the specific deadlines

✓ Developing long-term business plans based on these reports

✓ Reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets

✓ Developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk

✓ Analyzing market trends and competitors

✓ Providing financial reports and interpreting financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.

✓ Advising on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take

✓ Maintaining the financial health of the organization.

✓ Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.

✓ Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.

✓ Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

✓ Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.

✓ Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.

✓ Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.

✓ Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.

✓ Researching and reporting on factors affecting HPG Kenya Company performance

✓ Creating Cash flow statements

✓ Aid management in financial decisions.

✓ Maintain up to date financial system knowledge.

✓ Make sure financial legal requirements are met.

✓ Assisting in the preparation of budgets

✓ Managing records and receipts

✓ Reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions

✓ Preparing balance sheets

✓ Processing invoices


✓ Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role

✓ Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures

✓ Experience using financial software

✓ Advanced MS Excel skills

✓ Knowledge of financial regulations

✓ Excellent analytical and numerical skills

✓ Sharp time management skills

✓ Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data

✓ BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics

✓ Professional qualification as a CFA/CPA
