Job Summary:
Our client sells the finest alcohol at wholesale & and retail prices. The FMCG Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, budgeting, and financial analysis and providing valuable insights to support the organization's financial decision-making.
Proven experience as an accountant in the FMCG industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Financial Record Keeping:
Record and maintain financial transactions accurately in accordance with generally
accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control and
improvement.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor invoice processing, payment
approvals, and reconciliation.
Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collections and minimize outstanding
debts.
Prepare and distribute financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets,
and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
Generate ad-hoc financial reports for management as needed.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local and national tax regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns.
Maintain cost accounting records and systems.
Assist in managing inventory accounting, including inventory valuation and
reconciliations.
Monitor stock levels and provide input on inventory turnover strategies.
Coordinate and support external audits and examinations by providing necessary
documentation and explanations.
Implement audit recommendations and ensure compliance with audit findings.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends.
