Job Summary:

Our client sells the finest alcohol at wholesale & and retail prices. The FMCG Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, budgeting, and financial analysis and providing valuable insights to support the organization's financial decision-making.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification is a

    plus).

Experience

  • Proven experience as an accountant in the FMCG industry or a similar fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an advantage.

Financial Record Keeping:

  • Record and maintain financial transactions accurately in accordance with generally

    accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statements.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

  • Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control and

    improvement.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor invoice processing, payment

    approvals, and reconciliation.

  • Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collections and minimize outstanding

    debts.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and distribute financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets,

    and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.

  • Generate ad-hoc financial reports for management as needed.


Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local and national tax regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns.

  • Collaborate with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities.

Cost Analysis:

  • Analyze product and operational costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and

    efficiency improvements.

  • Maintain cost accounting records and systems.

Inventory Management:

  • Assist in managing inventory accounting, including inventory valuation and

    reconciliations.

  • Monitor stock levels and provide input on inventory turnover strategies.

Financial Audits:

  • Coordinate and support external audits and examinations by providing necessary

    documentation and explanations.

  • Implement audit recommendations and ensure compliance with audit findings.

Financial Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision making.
