Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Communication Technology or Engineering
- At least five (6) years industry experience in IT Service management, Data center, Server, Backup and Disaster Recovery, and Storage management, Virtualization, System and Network management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Commvault / Veeam
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Public, VMware, Private and Hybrid Cloud is a must have.
- Must have strong Windows/Linux/Unix skills.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure, VMware, Commvault, Veeam, Linux, Hyper-V, Storage, and other Cloud Technologies are an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong background and understanding of Backup Technologies like Commvault, Veeam, Veritas etc.
- Demonstrated ability, determination, and tenacity to move major initiatives forward and drive focus while consistently thinking of the bottom-line impact of the efforts.
- Experience working with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V/VMware)
- Experience with Microsoft Public, Hybrid and Private cloud
- Understanding of Server Clustering, Failover, High-availability.
- Experience working with Windows/Linux operating systems
- Certifications in Linux, Hyper-V, Windows Server, VMware, Commvault, Veeam,
- Hyperconverged System, System Centre, VMware, SAN Storage Technologies, and other Cloud
- Knowledge of OEM technologies required to deliver Infrastructure as a service including Dell, HP, Microsoft Azure, VMware, Load balancers, Storage solutions, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Team player with strong collaboration and engagement skills

- The Cloud Infrastructure & Data Protection Engineer will be responsible for providing 2nd level support to MainOne cloud customers and overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the cloud and backup infrastructure and effectively communicating with all stakeholders on pertinent matters including - but not limited to - software deployment, upgrades, system setup, system administration, monitoring, configuration, change management, capacity planning, availability management, disaster recovery and routine update of services.
- He/ She will also assist with developing processes to manage operations, technical standards, and architecture development.
Other responsibilities include:
- Manage all backup and recovery tools and systems.
- Provide timely L2 issue resolutions and support to cloud customers.
- Work actively with the rest of the Cloud Infrastructure team to support the Private Cluster and VMware platforms.
- Systems, Servers, and Storage Administration.
- Define and deliver on capacity planning analysis and monthly reporting.
- Provide support and analysis of complex problems.
- Ensure operating standards and procedures are defined and adhered to by others.
- Identify opportunities for infrastructure and process improvements.
- Advise on technology trends and standards.
- All additional job duties as defined by the Head of Cloud Operations.
