Requirements
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Planning; or Land Use Planning; or Urban and Regional Planning; or Urban Planning; or Urban Design; or Geography; or Town and Regional Planning; or any related field from a recognized University/Institution. - Applicants should possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Physical Planning; or Land Use Planning; or Urban and Regional Planning; or Urban Planning; or Urban Design; or Urban Geo Informatics; or any related field from a recognized University/Institution. - Knowledge of computer software application packages especially Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and automated Computer Aided Design (AUTOCAD) will be an added advantage.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of
six (06) years relevant working experience, three (03) of which should have been served at the level of Senior Physical Planner in Government.
- Updating the Ministry on plans for metropolitan physical development;
- Guiding the Ministry in enhancing compliance to proper building plans;
- Monitoring adherence to the Town and County Planning Act, 1964 and other relevant laws;
- Providing technical advice on the drawing of the structural land use lay out;
- Making reports to the Ministry on major building and infrastructure developments on the metropolitan area;
- Preparing and submitting briefs on demarcation of plots in Municipal Wards;
- Inspecting structures/buildings in the metropolitan area as directed by the Minister and producing reports on compliance with the land use plan, physical planning standards, guidelines and policies;
- Producing periodic reports on the state of open spaces, road reserves, green belts recreational areas, river banks, lake shores and all land gazette for public use;
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
