We are looking for an exceptional Tax Accountant to join our Finance Team.
Summary of Responsibility
Manage withholding tax collection, reporting, and reconciliation activities; support statutory tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE, and vendor withholding tax obligations; maintain accurate tax records and client accounts; liaise with clients and tax authorities; and provide administrative and compliance support to the Tax Compliance Manager to ensure timely and effective tax compliance across the firm.
Responsibilities
Client With-holding Tax collection, management and reporting.
Management of monthly PAYE, VAT, and other statutory tax computations and remittances.
Application of cash collection, WHT receipts and credit notes to receivable balances, and engagement with business managers & partner on WHT debtor collection.
Administration of staff tax matters, including Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) applications and renewals.
Prepare tax reconciliations and support balance sheet account reviews and month-end reporting.
Support responses to tax authority enquiries, audits, investigations, and regulatory reviews.
Support process improvement initiatives and tax compliance projects within the Finance function
Perform other tax and compliance-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting or related discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower/Lower Credit Division.
Have a minimum of five credits in WASSCE Ordinary Level/NECO subjects or acceptable equivalent examination, including Mathematics and English Language in one sitting only.
Fully qualified member of ICAN, ACCA or CITN.
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in taxation, accounting, finance, or regulatory compliance.
Good knowledge of the Nigeria Tax laws.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office tools (advanced excel).
Experience using ERP systems and tax compliance software is an advantage.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
