About the Role
We are seeking an Accountant / CPA to take ownership of complex accounting cleanups, system optimizations, and high-level financial reporting for our US-based clients.
This role requires a technical background in US bookkeeping logic, experience in clearing system discrepancies, and the ability to operate in an advanced English-speaking environment. If you excel at transforming messy financial data into audit-ready books, this is the role for you.

Location: On-site (Nairobi)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time (HST)
Language Requirement: English C1
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Data Cleanup: Audit and fix historical bookkeeping errors, clear bank transaction/reconciliation "junk", eliminate duplicate entries, and properly match credit card payments and credit card credits.
Chart of Accounts (COA) Optimization: Refine, structure, and implement proper subaccounts and numbering systems, deactivating unused accounts to maintain lean ledgers.
Journal Entries: Execute adjustments for opening balances, map interest applications, and perform historical corrections to align books with previous tax returns.
Accounts Receivable (AR) & Payroll Corrections: Resolve undeposited funds discrepancies, accurately match client deposit details, and execute payroll tax vs. expense reconciliations.
Financial Reporting & Monitoring: Generate customized financial reports, manage budgets, build projections, and handle 401(k) retirement fund monitoring and reconciliations.
Requirements & Skills
Experience: 1-4+ years of solid accounting/bookkeeping experience, with a proven track record handling data cleanups and full-cycle accounting for US businesses.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of US accounting principles, payroll reconciliations, and 401(k) compliance tracking.
Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in cloud accounting software (QuickBooks Online/Desktop or similar ERPs) and advanced spreadsheet mechanics.
Language: Strict C1 English level requirement. You must be able to communicate complex financial analysis and build reporting structures clearly in English.
