MMT Alliance is an Australian-owned procurement, logistics, supply chain, and consulting company supporting governments, UN agencies, NGOs, and development partners across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific.

We are seeking a highly connected professional with an established network within the UN, NGO, donor, and government sectors to drive business development and strategic partnerships across East Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with UN agencies, NGOs, donors, embassies, and government stakeholders.
  • Identify and secure tenders, contracts, framework agreements, and partnership opportunities.
  • Arrange meetings with procurement teams and key decision-makers.
  • Represent MMT Alliance at industry events and networking forums.
  • Develop strategic partnerships, consortiums, and joint ventures.
  • Provide intelligence on upcoming projects and procurement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in business development, partnerships, procurement, or donor-funded projects.
  • Strong network within UN agencies, NGOs, development partners, or government institutions.
  • Proven track record in generating opportunities and building high-level relationships.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Salary & Benefits

USD 1,500 – 2,500 per month + Commission + Performance Bonuses

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities – Strategic Partnerships & Business Development Manager (UN/NGO Sector)Strategic Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with UN agencies, NGOs, donor organisations, embassies, government ministries, and development partners.

  • Schedule and attend meetings with procurement officers, supply chain managers, programme managers, country directors, and decision-makers.

  • Represent MMT Alliance at conferences, exhibitions, networking events, donor forums, and procurement workshops.

  • Position MMT Alliance as a preferred supplier and strategic partner within the humanitarian and development sector.

Business Development & Opportunity Generation

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with UN agencies, NGOs, governments, and donor-funded programmes.

  • Generate qualified leads and convert opportunities into tender invitations, RFQs, RFPs, EOIs, framework agreements, and direct procurement opportunities.

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to increase MMT Alliance's market presence in East Africa.

  • Establish partnerships, consortiums, and joint ventures where required to strengthen tender submissions.

Tender & Procurement Intelligence

  • Monitor procurement portals, donor programmes, and industry networks for upcoming opportunities.

  • Obtain market intelligence regarding future procurement plans, budgets, projects, and framework agreements.

  • Identify decision-makers and influencers involved in procurement and project implementation.

  • Provide early intelligence on upcoming tenders before public release where possible.

Lobbying & Market Positioning

  • Actively engage with key stakeholders to create awareness of MMT Alliance's capabilities.

  • Introduce MMT Alliance's procurement, logistics, consulting, construction, ICT, renewable energy, and humanitarian supply capabilities to potential clients.

  • Establish strategic relationships that enhance MMT Alliance's visibility and competitiveness.

  • Support market-entry strategies into new countries and sectors.

Partnership Development

  • Identify and establish relationships with local suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, consultants, and implementing partners.

  • Negotiate and facilitate strategic alliances and consortium agreements.

  • Build and maintain a database of potential partners across multiple sectors.

  • Evaluate partner capabilities and suitability for specific opportunities.

Client Engagement & Account Management

  • Maintain regular contact with key stakeholders and clients.

  • Conduct client visits and relationship-building activities throughout Kenya and East Africa.

  • Identify client needs and present relevant MMT Alliance solutions.

  • Ensure long-term relationship management with existing and prospective clients.

Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with MMT Alliance's tender, procurement, logistics, and executive teams.

  • Provide detailed opportunity reports and business development updates.

  • Assist with bid strategy, partner identification, and positioning activities for major tenders.

  • Support the preparation of capability statements, presentations, and client proposals.

Performance & Reporting

  • Submit weekly business development and pipeline reports.

  • Maintain accurate records of meetings, contacts, opportunities, and outcomes.

  • Track and report on KPIs, including:

    • Number of meetings conducted

    • New contacts established

    • Opportunities identified

    • Tenders influenced

    • Framework agreements secured

    • Revenue generated

    • Partnerships established

Expected Deliverables

  • Minimum 20 strategic stakeholder meetings per month.

  • Minimum 10 qualified opportunities identified per month.

  • Minimum 3 high-value tender opportunities positioned per month.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key UN agencies, NGOs, donor organisations, and government stakeholders.

  • Contribute directly to the growth of MMT Alliance's contract portfolio across East Africa.

Success Profile

The ideal candidate is a highly connected "door opener" with an established network within the UN, NGO, donor, and government sectors. They are proactive, commercially minded, confident engaging senior decision-makers, and capable of turning relationships into tangible business opportunities and contract awards for MMT Alliance.
