WASH Coordinator (Engineer)

Description

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in water resources engineering, Civil and Building Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, Public Health Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in WASH programming and technical design and supervision with 2 years in high risks environment/hard to reach locations.
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing large-scale WASH and infrastructure projects in both development and humanitarian settings including design and supervision of solar powered piped water systems.
  • Strong knowledge of WASH sector standards, government policies, and donor compliance frameworks (GoU, UNICEF, USAID, EU, UN agencies, World Bank) including O&M framework.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, Epanet and other engineering/technical software is essential and Familiarity and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PPT, etc and prepare drawings and Bill of Q’ties.
  • Demonstrated experience in proposal writing, donor engagement, and resource mobilization.
  • Proven technical and management expertise in terms of WASH project assessments, design, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Good understanding of climate resilience water supply design principles and concepts, and use of any engineering applications for design of water supply systems.
  • Demonstrated competencies within the Uganda WASH sector and experience in facilitating multi-stakeholder processes.
