  • Credit Risk Management Framework and ensure that the Bank maintains a sound loan portfolio with respect to compliance with state laws and regulations, Bank lending policies and procedures, risk appetite and best practices.
  • Provide adequate oversight over credit risk management for all risks including the regular review of credit processes for all existing and new lending products and provide via deep dive and thematic reviews, independent verification of the risk asset quality of the credit exposures within all segments of the lending portfolio in order to maintain satisfactory credit quality.
  • Provide via sampling and testing and oversight, both a point in time and forward view of individual and portfolio early vintage performance of assets, migration and NPL trends and remediation’s to either preserve or enhance asset quality, risk management and risk appetite.
  • Ensure adherence to credit risk management in identifying, controlling, monitoring and reporting of all risks. Work with respective unit heads to drive the development and execution of the Business Continuity Plans (BCP), identify and review the various operational risks affecting the Credit departments in close liaison with the respective departmental Recovery Support teams and Risk champions.
  • Develop a working relationship with business unit team leaders to highlight the key credit issues facing their areas or product(s) under review and helping to provide executive solutions to improve asset quality, risk management and problem debt identification.
  • Ensure that Business teams and holders of Credit Approval Authorities adhere to their delegated credit authority discretions in compliance with credit policy and processes and prompt corrective action taken in the event of identified lapses.
  • Ensure full implementation of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) policy and procedures in the credit process and review adequacy of the Environmental and Social Due Diligence undertaken for investment projects as per agreed performance standards and international best practices.
  • Co-ordinate and implement the Division’s agreed action plans on identified internal and external credit audit findings and conduct regular Key Control Self-Assessments, tracking and ensuring timely closure of all credit audit and operational risk issues.
  • Identify gaps, plan, design, and co-ordinate the implementation of comprehensive credit training programs in the credit chain, operational risk, and compliance programs in consultation with the respective Divisions/departments such as HR Learning and development department and Risk Division.
  • Keep abreast of financial industry laws and regulations, emerging global banking trends and best practices relating to credit and provide regulatory expertise.
