Requirements
- Must be based in Mombasa
- Certificate or Diploma in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- Previous experience in cashiering will be an added advantage.
- Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
- High level of honesty, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain proper records.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with POS systems and ETR machines.
Responsibilities
- Receive payments made via cash, card, or mobile money from customers.
- Issue VAT receipts using the ETR machine for all eligible transactions.
- Issue refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Greet customers entering establishments.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
- Resolve customer complaints.
- Answer customers' questions, and provide information on procedures or policies.
- Cash checks for customers.
- Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales.
- Compute and record totals of transactions.
- Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions.
- Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available
- Any other duties assigned.
