Requirements

  • A minimum of three years’ experience as an Operations Manager in a commercial air transport organization.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Must have completed a Flight Dispatcher’s course.
  • Thorough working knowledge of flight operations, KCAA, and ICAO regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage flight operations and ground staff, and to coordinate with maintenance and crew scheduling teams.
  • Strong resource management skills to optimize aircraft utilization, fuel planning, ground handling, and overnight stops.
  • Strong crisis response skills to effectively manage weather disruptions, clearance delays, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events.


Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that all licenses and documentation relating to the Company’s aircraft operations are current and valid at all times.
  • Obtaining Police, Department of Defence, diplomatic, and all other relevant clearances as and when required.
  • Acting as a liaison with all government bodies concerned with the operation of the company’s aircraft.
  • Responsible for maintaining the discipline, welfare, and morale of flight operations officers and ground handling staff.
  • Supervising general administration and, in conjunction with the relevant post holders, ensuring the efficient functioning of the flying section in accordance with statutory, industry and internal standards.
  • Maintaining proper records relating to flight operations.
  • Assigning crews to flights and preparing flight schedules in conjunction with the Crew Scheduling Officer.
  • Ensuring that all contractual requirements relating to aircraft and crew are met.
  • Serving as the company’s Dangerous Goods Coordinator.
