Company Summary
Reporting Structure
Territory
The Officer's primary territory shall be East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi) with potential expansion to other African markets based on business needs and performance.
Responsibilities
The Officer's duties shall include but not be limited to:
● Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets as specified in Performance Metrics
● Develop and close new business opportunities in data center education and certification training
● Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution
● Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline at minimum 3.5x quarterly quota
B. Market Development:
● Execute partnership activation strategies for strategic partners
● Develop and maintain academic partnerships with universities and technical colleges
● Identify and secure project-based training opportunities for data center new builds and upgrades
● Establish and manage contractor partnership programs for training resale
C. Strategic Initiatives:
● Implement dual-track sales approach for our selected segments
● Support thought leadership initiatives and industry presence
● Represent the Employer at industry conferences, webinars, and networking events as needed
● Build strategic partnerships with technology vendors, consultants, and industry stakeholders
D. Sales Activities:
● Conduct minimum KPI activity levels as specified for Outreach & Prospecting, Pipeline Development, Industry Engagement and CRM & Documentation:
● Maintain all and accurate records in CRM system - HubSpot
● Prepare proposals, presentations, and business cases for prospective clients
● Deliver product demonstrations and consultative sales presentations
● Negotiate contracts and pricing within approved parameters
E. Market Intelligence:
● Monitor data center construction projects and facility upgrade opportunities
● Track competitive landscape and market trends
● Provide regular market feedback to management
● Identify opportunities for service expansion and product development
The post holder will be required to have and demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:
● Bachelor’s degree in IT/Engineering or business-related areas.
● Background in IT/Engineering will be an added advantage.
● Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in business development with proven experience in sales, managing client relations, and key account management.
● Experience interacting with C-suite executives and top business leaders is a prerequisite for this role.
● Previous experience in executive/technical education or pre-sales related fields is advantageous.
● Ability to guide senior business and technical leaders in designing training plans that will achieve desirable business results.
● Good research, planning, and reporting skills.
● Excellent business communication and etiquette skills with a flair for pitching.
● Ability to analyze data from various sources, including a thorough understanding of how the business works and where opportunities lie.
● Demonstrated ability to build and maintain key client relationships.
