Qualifications/special skills
- Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent); or
- Have graduated with a university degree in web development, computer science, information technology, software engineering, data science, digital systems, or a related field. In addition:
- Demonstrate pleasant interpersonal skills.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- Has a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and has a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.
- Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria?
Responsibilities
- Support the development, updating, and maintenance of Nairobi Convention website pages and related web platforms.
- Assist in creating and maintaining visualization dashboard pages for Nairobi Convention projects, including SWIOFC-NC PP1, SWIOFC-NC PP2, NOCAMO, and other linked initiatives.
- Collate, organize, and prepare project information, outputs, and datasets for integration into dashboard and web-based reporting tools.
- Support integration of data from multiple sources into cohesive datasets for dashboards, web pages, and related digital products.
- Assist in the development and updating of metadata and structured information for web maps and project information systems.
- Support data analysis and interpretation using relevant digital tools, including dashboard and reporting platforms, to generate insights for project communication and decision-making.
- Assist in the creation, updating, and publishing of COP12 and other event-related web pages, ensuring timely posting of working documents, information documents, and related materials.
- Upload and maintain relevant website content, including project documents, event resources, updates, and communication materials.
- Support ongoing improvement of the Nairobi Convention’s online visibility, accessibility, and digital knowledge-sharing systems.
