Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminology, Risk Management, Police/Defence Studies, Business Administration or a related field.
Relevant security management certification or professional training.
Minimum 5 years' experience in security, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
Experience managing a security team in a hotel, hospitality, corporate, commercial or similarly high-risk environment.
Good knowledge of security operations, investigations, emergency response and risk management.
Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control and other security systems.
Good understanding of Kenyan security and occupational safety requirements.
Experience working with police, emergency services and external security agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all day-to-day security operations of the hotel, ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, visitors, premises and assets.
Develop, implement and continuously review security procedures, risk assessments, access-control measures and loss-prevention strategies.
Monitor and manage CCTV, access control, key control, security equipment and other security systems to ensure effective protection of the property.
Lead the response to security incidents, conduct investigations, preserve evidence, prepare accurate reports and ensure timely escalation to management and relevant authorities.
Develop and coordinate emergency, crisis and evacuation procedures and conduct regular drills to ensure operational readiness.
Lead, supervise, coach and develop the security team, ensuring appropriate deployment, performance, discipline, professionalism and compliance with hotel standards.
Ensure compliance with applicable Kenyan laws, regulatory requirements, hotel policies, brand standards and security best practices.
Maintain effective working relationships with management, employees, guests, external security providers, police, emergency services and other relevant stakeholders.
Provide security awareness, emergency response and loss-prevention training to employees and promote a strong safety and security culture across the hotel.
Prepare and maintain accurate security records, reports, logs and documentation, and provide management with regular updates, recommendations and security risk insights.
