Our client, a reputable company in Uganda is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, results-driven, and qualified professional to fill the position of General Manager. The role holder is expected to be a strong, visionary, and exceptional leader with ability to set company strategy, provide strategic and operational leadership to both business operations and support functions, champion business growth and manage the Company’s operations.

The General Manager will lead the transformation of the company to profitability, ensure effective management of risk and compliance, enable effective relationships with regulators and shareholders, and report to the Board of Directors on all necessary matters.


Requirements

Education and Training:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Legal, Economics, Finance or related field from a recognized institution

• A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Skills and Experience

• At least 10 years working experience gained in the financial services sector in any of the following sub-sectors: banks, Insurance, investments, or real estate of which 5 years should be at Senior Management or Executive level in a commercial, Business Development.

• Strategic planning and investments

• High level of numeracy and financial analysis

• Exceptional leadership skills with ability to set goals and cultivate a high-performance culture

• Integrity

• Ability to work under pressure

• Responsible for the Company’s annual budget

• Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Board concerning all relevant company matters.

• Effective risk management and compliance.

• Relationship management with regulators, shareholders and other company stakeholders.

• Build company image through development of relevant relationships.

• Provide regular reports as required by regulators and other stakeholders.
