Description
Requirements
- A minimum of three years’ experience as an Operations Manager in a commercial air transport organization.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Must have completed a Flight Dispatcher’s course.
- Thorough working knowledge of flight operations, KCAA, and ICAO regulations.
- Strong leadership skills to manage flight operations and ground staff, and to coordinate with maintenance and crew scheduling teams.
- Strong resource management skills to optimize aircraft utilization, fuel planning, ground handling, and overnight stops.
- Strong crisis response skills to effectively manage weather disruptions, clearance delays, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all licenses and documentation relating to the Company’s aircraft operations are current and valid at all times.
- Obtaining Police, Department of Defence, diplomatic, and all other relevant clearances as and when required.
- Acting as a liaison with all government bodies concerned with the operation of the company’s aircraft.
- Responsible for maintaining the discipline, welfare, and morale of flight operations officers and ground handling staff.
- Supervising general administration and, in conjunction with the relevant post holders, ensuring the efficient functioning of the flying section in accordance with statutory, industry and internal standards.
- Maintaining proper records relating to flight operations.
- Assigning crews to flights and preparing flight schedules in conjunction with the Crew Scheduling Officer.
- Ensuring that all contractual requirements relating to aircraft and crew are met.
- Serving as the company’s Dangerous Goods Coordinator.
