Description
Requirements
- A degree in visual communications or graphic design is desirable. However, other degrees with communication or visual arts are also useful. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree is accepted.
- You have a 1-3 years’ full-time relevant work experience.
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud software: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Experience with Canva, Asana and Figma would be a bonus
- Ability to share creative and new ideas while being open to feedback on these suggestions
- Ability to work through multiple iterations of each project
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals
- Flexibility and the ability to work under quick deadlines
Responsibilities
Design and produce communications materials for WRI programs (80%)
- Lay out knowledge products (reports, issue briefs, working papers…)
- Lay out communications products (brochures, two-pagers, posters…)
- Build and package graphics for WRI’s institutional blog and social media platforms
- Build and design presentations in PowerPoint
Support institutional projects (20%)
- Support the WRI Africa communications, development and human resources teams with their design needs
- Support the Core Communications team for Institute-wide communications efforts
- Attend weekly and month team meetings and contribute to the group life of the team
