Description
The waiter/waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a restaurant, café, hotel, or event setting. The role focuses on taking orders, serving food and beverages, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and guide them to their tables.
- Present menus, provide recommendations, and answer customer questions about dishes and beverages.
- Take accurate food and drink orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Ensure tables are clean, organized, and properly set before and after service.
- Handle customer complaints or special requests professionally and escalate to supervisors when necessary.
- Assist with billing, processing payments, and handling cash or card transactions.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Follow health, hygiene, and safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to provide smooth and efficient service.
Requirements:
- Minimum secondary education; hospitality training is an advantage.
- Previous experience in food service, restaurants, or catering preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Professional appearance, hygiene, and etiquette.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods.
