Description
On behalf of our client, a leading player in the FMCG sector, we are seeking a results-driven Sales & Marketing Representative to oversee and expand market presence within the Kisumu and larger Nyanza region. The ideal candidate will possess deep local market knowledge and a proven track record in the high-volume commodities sector.


The Sales & Marketing Representative will be responsible for driving sales volumes, managing distributor relationships, and executing marketing strategies for wheat flour, maize flour, and sugar products. You will serve as the primary point of contact for wholesalers, retailers, and key accounts across the Nyanza region.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Management, sales & Marketing or any related field
  2. Minimum of 5 years of active experience in sales and marketing within the FMCG sector.

  3. Specific, demonstrable experience in the sale of wheat flour, maize flour, and sugar is mandatory.

  4. Extensive existing network and deep understanding of the Nyanza region business landscape (Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, and Nyamira)

  5. Strong understanding of distribution models and supply chain logistics for essential commodities.

  6. Proven ability to negotiate high-volume contracts and manage credit terms with large-scale wholesalers.

  7. Proficiency in English and Swahili; knowledge of local languages spoken in the Nyanza region is a significant advantage.


Responsibilities
  1. Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for flour (maize/wheat) and sugar categories.

  2. Identify and onboard new distributors and retail outlets within Kisumu and surrounding Nyanza counties.

  3. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing key accounts, wholesalers, and supermarkets.

  4. Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and consumer preferences specifically within the Nyanza regional market.

  5. Coordinate and execute below-the-line (BTL) marketing activities, including merchandising, activations, and point-of-sale (POS) material placement.

  6. Provide detailed weekly reports on sales performance, market challenges, and stock levels.
