Required Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc in English Language Education or related field with a teaching qualification and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in international teaching school approved by an international schools association or body (e.g IBO, CIE, AISEN, COBIS, COIS, AISA).
  • Possession of Teaching qualification recognised by TRCN or additional qualifications from International organizations (e.g. CIE, IBO) is an added advantage.


Responsibilities

Commitment to creating a positive and balanced learning environment

  • Foster and maintain a positive, disciplined, and respectful learning environment.
  • Develop and submit lesson plans in line with the IB framework and course guidelines in a timely manner.
  • Deliver instruction aligned with the IITA School’s curriculum, policies, and standards.
  • Demonstrate adequate preparation through effective use of teaching resources and materials.
  • Differentiate lessons to accommodate diverse abilities and learning styles.
  • Clearly communicate lesson objectives and provide opportunities for student reflection and self-evaluation.

Assessment of students’ academic development and well-being

  • Assess new students, where required, and recommend appropriate levels of support.
  • Continuously evaluate student progress using a variety of assessment methods.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress to support final assessments.

Commitment to reflection and improvement of personal practice

  • Participate in the teacher evaluation programme.
  • Engage in peer observation activities to support professional growth.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and stay updated on current educational practices.

Contribution to School Community

  • Actively contribute to school improvement initiatives.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
  • Attend and meaningfully contribute to all required meetings.
  • Perform assigned supervisory duties, including break-time supervision.
  • Support and contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programmes.
