Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including performing surgeries and managing patients with various eye conditions. The role requires a high level of expertise in ophthalmology. The ideal candidate will combine skilled surgical abilities and clinical acumen with a compassionate approach to patient care. They have a proven track record of successful eye surgeries.


Requirements
  • Master Degree (MMED or Equivalent) in Ophthalmology.

  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an ophthalmologist in a clinical setting.

  • Proven experience of performing at least 200 manual cataract surgeries.
  • Competence in performing other ophthalmology procedures.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to detect vision problems, eye diseases, and

  • other conditions.

  • Perform cataract surgeries and other eye surgeries with precision and care.

  • Diagnose and treat eye diseases, injuries, and other disorders of the eye.

  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients.

  • Educate patients on eye health and preventive measures.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and ensure all
documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in ophthalmology and integrate them into practice.

  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
