For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • At least ten (10) years cumulative relevant work experience, four (4) of which should have served at supervisory level;
  • Master's degree in any of the following disciplines: Education, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Research or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Education, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Planning, Project Management or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications;
  • Demonstrated merit in work performance;
  • Membership to a professional body;
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya only for the successful applicants.

  • Liaising with consultants, resource persons, and other stakeholders on education and assessment matters;
  • Implementing performance management system in the division;
  • Coordinating research programmes in the division;
  • Identification, coordinating and managing the development of course content for training;
  • Identification, coordination and managing resource centre personnel;
  • Coordinating and managing educational assessment and training;
  • Developing department’s work plan and budget;
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual divisional reports;
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of an effective staff performance management system;
  • Ensuring development and implementation of the training and development plan;
  • Managing human, financial, and material resources assigned to the division;
  • Collaborating with process owners and user departments to ensure delivery of quality goods and services;
  • Promoting adherence to the Intellectual Property Rights policy.
