  • The role purpose of the Accounts Assistant will be to ensure that the company stocks are correctly valued, inventory system database is updated & correctly maintained, maintaining GL/SL integrity & ensuring that the company books reflect the correct position at any one time, by ensuring that the books to physical reconciliations are done on a regular basis

Minimum qualifications for the role:

  • Undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Commerce Accounting/Finance option (Second class upper and above) with CPA 2. Any other business-related qualification with a minimum of CPA 4 or progress towards attainment thereof.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • At least 1-year professional experience in a costing and or reconciliations role.

Technical/operational competencies:

  • Good Excel analytics skills.
  • Good understanding of FMCG marketing.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Excellent computer skills

Behavioural competencies:

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinating and organising ability.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Up-to-date with marketing trends.

  • Weekly Bank reconciliations.
  • Reporting on daily cash position.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions.
  • Tracking, recording, and analyse inventory data.
  • Timely and accurate recording of inventory transactions, reconciling inventory balances,
  • Assist in Perform periodic physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory.
  • Maintain Item Master.
  • Assist in BOM Costing.
  • Assist in import costing sheet analysis.
  • Assist in Analyse and recommend cost and cost-saving strategies.
  • Assist in Preparation & analysis of project-related cost analysis.
