Provide strategic leadership in financial and operations management in line with AAIU and AAI. Strategies, policies, procedures, statutory laws and international financial standards. The position also provides inspirational leadership in the development, and implementation of human resource and administration, IT and Procurement policies in line with AAI and AAIU policy framework and statutory requirements.


Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, or Business Administration (Accounting) or any other relevant qualification and must be a member of a professional accounting body (ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA etc.)

• A Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance and Accounting is an added advantage

• At least 8-10 years of sound technical knowledge, and 6 years of relevant work experience, 3 of which should have been in senior management position in a reputable NGO

• Practical experience in using computerised financial accounting packages.

• Contribute to strategic decision making to support. Experience of working in Non-governmental the National Governing Board

• Lead the development, review, interpretation and implementation of the AAIU Financial management, Human Resource, Administration, Procurement, ICT policies, procedures and systems in line with AAI's framework and national legislations.

• Lead in the development of plans and budgets in line with AAI/AAIU policies.

• Develop and implement an internal control system to maintain the financial integrity and compliance with AAIU policies, procedures and national laws

• Review and approve expenditures and other financial related transactions in line with the financial policies and procedures.

• Develop and implement financial reporting systems in line with financial frameworks, policies and procedures.

• Provide technical advice and support on the Program financial matters to the Country Director and other points staff as required

• Provide support and guidance to grants and contracts management to ensure adherence to AAI requirements.

• Coordinate the internal and external audit engagements in line with the AAIU policies and International financial reporting standards

• Ensure the integrity of accounting systems and data security

• Develop and lead the implementation of frameworks for talent management, recruitment, selection, induction and orientation processes in line with line with the AAIU Country Strategy, and AAl's priorities Retain a motivated workforce in AAIU while ensuring effective employee performance management.
