Description

About you

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Management Information Systems (MIS) development, administration, and data systems management within development programmes or technology-driven environments. They will demonstrate practical expertise in the design and implementation of digital data collection systems using platforms such as SurveyCTO, CommCare, ODK, Kobo, or similar tools. The candidate should also have proven experience in developing automated dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other comparable platforms, enabling programme teams to access clear, timely, and actionable insights.

In addition, the candidate will possess solid technical skills in data integration and management, including experience working with API integrations, ETL processes, SQL databases, and automated data pipelines. They should be comfortable supporting programme teams with their data management and reporting requirements, ensuring that systems are reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with programme needs. Experience in data security practices, user access and permission management, and maintaining clear documentation of MIS processes is essential to ensure system integrity, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, and maintain the centralized MIS for GAIN Nigeria project portfolio, ensuring system stability, security, and ease of use.
  • Manage data pipelines that integrate digital data collection platforms (SurveyCTO, CommCare, Kobo, ODK, etc.) with the MIS.
  • Ensure the MIS supports real-time data synchronization, disaggregation, and automated analytics required for programme decision making.
  • Ensure system backups, data security protocols, user access rights, and version control.
  • Monitor synchronization processes and troubleshoot issues related to API connections, form updates, and data mapping.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) that provide real-time performance analytics and automated donor reporting outputs.
  • Ensure dashboards reflect required disaggregation categories and support programme decision making and donor reporting.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for MIS users across programme teams and implementing partners.
