We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Sales Operations Head to lead and optimize field delivery operations for a fleet of route-sales teams of 100 sales staff who deliver bread and bakery products using company vehicles). The role is based in Nairobi and the ideal Candidate will report to Head of Sales / Operations

Qualification

  1. Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing , Business administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related field.

  2. Minimum 10 years total experience with 4–5 years in a similar operations/sales-ops role in bakery, FMCG, beverages, cold-chain or quick-service distribution.

  3. Proven experience managing large route-sales teams / field distribution (ideally ~100 people).

  4. Strong leadership — able to motivate field staff, manage supervisors and drive accountability.

  5. Comfortable with tech: route-planning tools, GPS/telematics, Excel / BI dashboards.

  6. Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

  2. Monitor field teams’ progress (KPIs: on-time deliveries, route adherence, stock reconciliation, returns).

  3. Re-route teams dynamically to respond to demand, traffic, vehicle issues or product availability.

  4. Troubleshoot and resolve field issues (vehicle breakdowns, customer complaints, route conflicts, stock variances).

  5. Coordinate with production, warehousing and distribution to align load plans and schedules.

  6. Implement route optimisation tools, telematics/GPS tracking and reporting dashboards; drive data-led improvements.

  7. Train, mentor and performance-manage route supervisors and team leaders; conduct periodic field audits.

  8. Maintain strong safety, hygiene and FSSC/food-safety compliance during deliveries
