Requirements

The successful Candidate is required to meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a Ugandan National
  • Possess Secondary Education (UACE).
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • Possess a valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle(s) the officer is required to driver (preferably DL, C1 & C)
  • Defensive driving skills and a defensive driving certificate.
  • Clean driving record and safe driving practices.


Responsibilities
  1. Ensuring the safe driving of the IsraAID vehicle, and the transportation of staff, guests and assets in accordance with the organization's driver and vehicle safety policy and procedures.
  2. Ensuring cleaning and proper maintenance of vehicles in compliance with the Driver’s handbook and safe driving standards.
  3. Ensuring the vehicle is fueled on time for trips and proper management of the fuel supply for the vehicle.
  4. Ensuring that adequate and current information on the destination and routing is gathered before departure.
  5. Ensuring the vehicle is parked safely and in a secure area.
  6. Maintain a vehicle logbook for all movements of the vehicles whilst in use.
  7. Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to the Logistics and Procurement Officer
  8. Assist in the loading and offloading of the vehicle when required.
  9. Professional liaison with staff during the course of employment.
  10. Receive, verify, and deliver transported items, ensuring accurate and complete documentation is maintained
