Requirements
The successful Candidate is required to meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Ugandan National
- Possess Secondary Education (UACE).
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in the humanitarian sector.
- Possess a valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle(s) the officer is required to driver (preferably DL, C1 & C)
- Defensive driving skills and a defensive driving certificate.
- Clean driving record and safe driving practices.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safe driving of the IsraAID vehicle, and the transportation of staff, guests and assets in accordance with the organization's driver and vehicle safety policy and procedures.
- Ensuring cleaning and proper maintenance of vehicles in compliance with the Driver’s handbook and safe driving standards.
- Ensuring the vehicle is fueled on time for trips and proper management of the fuel supply for the vehicle.
- Ensuring that adequate and current information on the destination and routing is gathered before departure.
- Ensuring the vehicle is parked safely and in a secure area.
- Maintain a vehicle logbook for all movements of the vehicles whilst in use.
- Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to the Logistics and Procurement Officer
- Assist in the loading and offloading of the vehicle when required.
- Professional liaison with staff during the course of employment.
- Receive, verify, and deliver transported items, ensuring accurate and complete documentation is maintained
