Job application procedure
Applications should be submitted in triplicate on Public Service Form 3, (PSF 3), Revised 2008 to the Secretary, Sironko District Service Commission, P.O. Box, 34, Sironko to be received not later than 28th September 2020.
The application forms may be obtained from any District Service Commission, or Public Service Commission offices, Farmers House, 2nd floor, Kampala or from Public Service Commission website. www.psc.go.ug, the office of the Secretaries District Service Commissions countrywide.
The applications should bear the title of the post as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy. Applicants must attach certified photocopies of all academic certificates and transcripts, registration certificates, a photocopy of the National Identity card, CV, three (3) recent passport photographs, and any other relevant documents.
Only qualifications from recognized Institutions will be considered.
Serving officers MUST route their applications through their immediate supervisors/Head of institution/Department who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay. Applications that are not properly routed will not be considered.

Job Purpose
To carry out the overall administration and management of a Parish Unit in the Local Government.
Qualifications
• “A” Level Certificate from a recognized Institution.
• Certificate in either Public Administration and Management or Social Work and Social Administration
• Post basic training lasting not less than two (2) years in areas of education, environment, and public administration will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and compiling reports on parish operations for the attention of the Sub-County Chief;
  • Collecting and accounting for Local revenue in the Parish;
  • Preparing work plans and budgets for the operations of the Parish;
  • Enforcing the implementation of National and Local Government policies, programs and Council bye-laws in the Parish;
  • Undertaking the mobilization of the Parish Community for Government development programs and projects;
  • Providing technical support to the Parish Council on any matters relating to lower Local Government governance;
  • Undertaking duties of Secretariat to the Parish Council;
  • Managing and monitoring Local Government projects implemented in the Parish;
  • Coordinating the maintenance of law and order in a parish;

Job Requirements

Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
Required relevant work experience: 18 months
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
