Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
- Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university;
- Minimum K.C.S.E C+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Post graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law;
- Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court;
- Current Practicing Certificate;
- Member of the Law Society of Kenya in good standing;
- Demonstrable good results in work performance;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail assisting in:
- Preparing legal briefs for the initiation of legal action;
- Preparing and interpreting legal opinions and offering guidance on legal requirements; iii. Ensuring that key issues and needs of Institute are represented in policy fora in international regional and national conferences/meetings/workshops;
- Preparing and filing of pleadings for and on behalf of the Institute;
- Drafting and reviewing of legal instruments and policy documents on behalf of the Institute;
- Drafting of contracts, agreements and other legal documents;
- Preparing and circulating of Board and Committee Papers; and viii. Maintaining and updating the Register of Conflict of Interest.
