Description

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynecology from a recognized institution.
  • Licensing: Valid registration and practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years post-qualification experience in a busy hospital setting.
  • Skills: Competency in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy) is an added advantage.
  • Attributes: Strong communication skills, empathy,
  • professionalism, and commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care: Deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services, including antenatal, postnatal, family planning, and high-risk pregnancy management.
  • Surgical Procedures: Perform elective and emergency obstetric and gynecological surgeries (C-sections, hysterectomies, laparoscopy).
  • Patient Consultation: Run outpatient clinics, offering accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment plans.
  • Emergency Management: Provide on-call services and lead obstetric emergency response teams to ensure optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior doctors, interns, and nursing staff. Quality Assurance: Participate in clinical audits, mortality reviews, and continuous medical education (CME) activities.
