Social Policy Intern

Description

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: A current Nigerian student at 200 level or above of a first university degree programme in any of the following faculties/departments: Social Sciences, Administration, Public Policy, or a related field. Have strong academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records or, if not available, a reference letter from an academic supervisor.
  • Experience and technical Skills: No previous experience is required. However, possessing previous experience in programme support and management will be an asset, as well as skills in computer (Microsoft Office Application), report writing, data management, and analysis.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.
Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the development of reports, and other documentation that utilizes data to advocate for improved social protection coverage for children.
  2. Help manage and coordinate technical support around social protection, public finance and governance ensuring it is well planned, monitored, and implemented.
  3. Supports and contributes to effective and efficient planning, management, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the section’s programmes.
  4. Regularly monitor program consistency and data quality to ensure compliance with project management standards.
  5. Prepare and present data-driven reports to support project reporting.
  6. Provide timely and accurate data insights to inform the design, implementation, and review of programme initiatives.
  7. Management of the schedule of various meetings with the government partners and logistics support to the section.
  8. Any other business which might be necessary for the section and the field office in general.
