Requirements

  • The applicant must hold a BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
  • At least three years of working experience in construction management
  • Experience with timber construction is a big plus
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and quality standards in construction
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Experienced in keeping an overview of production planning of multiple projects
  • Affinity with sustainable and affordable housing
  • Fluency in English and Luganda
  • Based in Kampala and mostly working from our factory in Kireka

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from prefabrication till placement
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Coordinate and direct carpentry team and subcontractors
  • Maintaining tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
  • Review the work progress on daily basis
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to project status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Work closely together with the Project Managers and carpenters
