As a Liquor Shop Manager/Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
operations of the liquor stores while managing financial transactions, inventory, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages. This role combines managerial responsibilities with accounting and financial management tasks.
As a Liquor Shop Manager/Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
operations of the liquor stores while managing financial transactions, inventory, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages. This role combines managerial responsibilities with accounting and financial management tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
· Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent in various roles.
· Supervise and train staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
· Prepare and coordinate for leave days for the staffs.
· Prepare job descriptions and employments terms for all staff.
· Closely supervise the staff’s and give constant reports to the Director.
· In charge of all staffs welfare and well-being .
· Coming up with initiates to motivate staff to work better.
· Conduct job interviews, screen candidates, and oversee the hiring process.
Compliance and Licensing:
· Ensure the store operates in full compliance with federal, state, and local liquor laws and regulations.
· Obtain and maintain all necessary licenses and permits for the sale of alcoholic beverages.
· Stay updated on changes in liquor regulations and adjust store operations accordingly.
Financial Management:
· Maintain accurate financial records, including daily sales, expenses, and deposits.
· Prepare and manage budgets, forecasting, and financial reports.
· Reconcile cash register and credit card transactions daily.
· Handle banking and cash management responsibilities.
Inventory Control:
· Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking or understocking.
· Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
· Analyze sales data to make informed decisions about stock ordering and pricing.
· Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
· Ensure customer service excellence and resolve customer issues as they arise.
· Manage inventory levels, stock rotation, and order replenishments.
· Supervise receiving of all goods and services.
Sales and Marketing:
· Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive sales and increase customer loyalty.
· Set competitive pricing and promotions.
· Collaborate with suppliers and distributors to source new products and negotiate terms.
· Organize events, tastings, and promotions to attract customers and create a unique experience.
Security and Loss Prevention:
· Implement security measures to prevent theft and ensure the safety of staff and customers.
· Investigate and report any suspicious or irregular activities.
Record Keeping:
· Maintain accurate and organized records of all transactions and inventory movements.
· Prepare and submit tax-related documentation as required.
Health and Safety:
· Enforce safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including age verification for customers.
Reporting and Analysis:
· Generate and analyze business performance reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
· Make data-driven decisions to enhance business operations and profitability.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
· Previous experience in retail management, particularly in a liquor store or similar environment.
· Strong knowledge of liquor laws and regulations.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
· Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including, early mornings, evenings and weekends.
· Preferred Age 30 years and above
