Responsibilities
  • As a psychiatrist working with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), your main responsibility will be to propose, implement and improve treatment plans for patients who suffer from mental health disorders. You'll need to make sure you're using strategies and tools that are appropriate for their specific context and culture. An important aspect of your work will be coordinating various activities and providing guidance and supervision to locally recruited colleagues engaged in psychosocial support and mental health initiatives.
  • Your daily tasks will usually consist of conducting individual clinical consultations and organizing therapeutic or psycho-educational activities in groups.
  • While your primary area of work is clinical, you will play a critical role in recruiting, training and supervising locally recruited mental health professionals. In addition, your ability to adapt tools and interventions according to local cultural specificities and a changing context will be essential.
