Job Purpose

  • The Driver will be responsible for transporting staff and ensuring official vehicles are in good and safe working condition.

Duties and Duties

  • Transport staff securely to areas where they are needed
  • Ensure timely conveyance of staff and materials to and from places as instructed by supervisor or the manager
  • Ensure that vehicles are always kept clean by washing both the inside and outside parts of the vehicle
  • Carry out routine checks on vehicles and ensure they are in good working condition
  • Recognize electrical and mechanical faults and report to the line manager or technician
  • Report any instance of mishap or accident to the line manager
  • Perform periodic maintenance on vehicles, such as changing batteries and motor oil at appropriate time, as well as fueling the car(s)
  • Report any case of accident, injury or damage of vehicles to the supervisor or manager
  • Keep all records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance
  • Keep a travel log to record areas travelled to, travel time, and work hours

 Duties Applicable to all Staff:

  • Actively work towards the achievement of the NRCS goals
  • Abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross Fundamental Principles and NRCS Statutes
  • Show capacity to assist other members of staff and management, aptitude for maintaining cooperation and team spirit necessary to achieve the objectives of the National Society
  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Line Manager
