Provide outpatient consultation, diagnosis, and management of ENT conditions, including diseases of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck.
Perform a full range of ENT surgical procedures, including but not limited to tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, septoplasty, FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery), myringotomy/grommet insertion, mastoidectomy, and head & neck surgeries.
Manage emergency ENT presentations, including airway emergencies, epistaxis, foreign body removal, and trauma.
Conduct pre-operative assessment, obtain informed consent, and provide post-operative care and follow-up.
Collaborate with anesthesiology, audiology, radiology, and other specialty departments for integrated patient care.
Supervise and mentor resident doctors, medical officers, and nursing staff assigned to the ENT department.
Participate in the development of ENT clinical protocols, quality assurance initiatives, and patient safety programs.
Support outreach, screening camps, and community health initiatives as required.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in line with hospital and regulatory documentation standards.
Participate in an on-call rotation for ENT emergencies.
Contribute to departmental growth planning, including equipment needs and service line development.

Qualifications

MBChB with postgraduate specialization in Otorhinolaryngology (MS/MD/DNB ENT, or equivalent recognized qualification).
Minimum 3 years of post-residency clinical experience as a practicing ENT Surgeon, with demonstrated surgical volume and outcomes.

Experience

Valid registration/license to practice with the relevant national medical council, and eligibility for registration with the Uganda Medical & Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC).
Fellowship or additional sub-specialty training (e.g., Head & Neck Oncology, Otology, Rhinology, Skull Base Surgery) is an added advantage.
Proven track record in independently performing major and minor ENT surgical procedures.
Prior experience setting up or leading an ENT department/unit is highly desirable.
