Academic Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognized training institution.
- Registration with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC).
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognized training institution.
- Registration with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC).
- Training or experience in TB service delivery is an added advantage.
- Experience using digital tools (smartphones, tablets, applications, dashboards) is desirable.
- Knowledge of TB treatment, follow-up requirements, and adherence counselling approaches.
Responsibilities
- Monitor adherence dashboards daily for all patients using DAT tools, including smart pillboxes, vDOT platforms, or other digital systems.
- Identify patients with missed doses or inconsistent dosing patterns and initiate prompt follow-up through calls, messaging, or in-person visits.
- Provide structured adherence counselling at treatment initiation, during follow-up, and whenever adherence concerns arise.
- Support patients to use DAT tools correctly and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, charging, or device handling.
- Document all follow-ups, counselling sessions, challenges, and actions taken in DAT registers, patient files, and digital platforms.
- Maintain updated patient adherence logs and contribute to weekly and monthly DAT performance reports.
- Work closely with TB focal persons, linkage facilitators, and community health workers to ensure seamless follow-up for patients unreachable through digital means.
- Participate in case review discussions for patients experiencing persistent adherence challenges or risk of treatment interruption.
- Coordinate retrieval, replacement, or maintenance of DAT devices and ensure proper accountability for project tools.
- Support training and orientation of facility staff and community teams on DAT use, adherence counselling, and dashboard interpretation.
- Participate in quality improvement activities aimed at improving adherence and treatment outcomes.
- Ensure confidentiality, respectful care, and ethical handling of patient information, including digital records.
